Students from the Faculty of Education HSE, University of Benin, recently participated in a comprehensive professional training program, thanks to a collaborative effort with Opolo Global. This initiative aimed to bolster the students’ practical skills, equipping them for their future careers in education.

Held at the Opolo Global Innovation Hub UNIBEN, the training provided an immersive environment where students could gain firsthand experience and invaluable insights into their chosen field. The partnership with Opolo Global underscored our commitment to fostering real-world knowledge and skills among aspiring educators.

An overview of the training program was presented by Mr. Peter, Opolo Innovation Hub UNIBEN manager, spotlighting key focus areas such as classroom management, educational technology, curriculum development, and student assessment. The goal was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring students are well-prepared for real-world teaching challenges.

Hands-on activities formed a core part of the training, allowing students to simulate real-world teaching scenarios. Activities like lesson planning, classroom simulations, and the use of educational technology tools provided practical experience that proved invaluable.

The program also included mentorship and personalized guidance from experienced educators and Opolo Global experts. This one-on-one feedback helped students refine their teaching methods and strategies, ensuring a high standard of professional development.

Students were encouraged to share their reflections on the training, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The professional training program for Faculty of Education HSE students, organized in collaboration with Opolo Global, was a significant milestone in their professional journey. This initiative greatly contributed to their readiness for future careers in education.
