The formal signing of two Memoranda of Cooperation between Opolo Global Innovation Ltd and The Center for Cross-Border Digital and Inclusive Entrepreneurship of Carleton University and as well as with Scalecamp Canada, was held January 10, 2023, during the Nigeria Canada Trade and Investment Forum held at the Shaw Centre, Ottawa, Canada.
The collaboration with CBDI is to establish a framework of cooperation in the design, development, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and review of joint research, entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation, and capacity building programs among others. On the other hand, the partnership with Scalecamp Canada is intended to nurture a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurship on the African continent through incubation, acceleration, and capacity-building programs that will aid in the development of ideas into robust, profitable ventures that creates wealth for all.
The signing events was witnessed by dignitaries including Nola Kianza, President/CEO, Canadian Council for Africa; His Excellency, Otunba Niyi Adebayo CON, Nigeria’s Minister for Investment, Trade and Industry, His Excellency, Mr Adeyinka Asekun, Nigeria Ambassador to Canada; Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, Nigeria Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation.
